Jamie MacDonald Brooklyn Concert reviews
Really great show
I had heard two songs before the show, but now I am a fan and am downloading their songs. The first act was really good, with high energy and Michal Franti (and Spearhead) coming through the audience and bringing some back on stage. The best yet for a warm up, I was converted! I thought they might upstage Jamie MacDonald, but he was also really good. He played some of his new songs and some of my favorites of his older ones, including a nice rendition of Bill Withers' "Ain't no sunshine" from the Still Bill album, which is in my top ten all-time best records. He seemed to have a different guitar for each song, proving he is one of the great guitarists of his generation. His band was excellent, and the drummer did a great solo. I love going to his concerts because his audience is different each time I have seen him (4). This time, like usual, as eclectic a group as it was, everyone was feeling it. Very positive.
